A Numerical Study on the Effects of the Geometry and Location of an Inserted Wire on Methane–Air Flames in a Micro–Burner

The effects of the diameter and location an inserted wire on methane–air flame characteristics in a micro-burner, with backward-facing step, were investigated numerically. Our goal was to shed light parameters that authors had not already considered previous study. To do so, studied distribution temperature, H, OH species, scrutinized. It shown increasing wire’s relocating towards outlet polynomial linear burner, respectively. Although changing these two did have any obvious maximum temperature auxiliary axis burner or external wall, peak values hot-flame critical chemical species H recognized. Furthermore, it outer surface more influenced by axial rather than diameter. This effect may be interest for designing micro-TPVs micro-TEGs.
